Following Baltimore’s 27-25 loss on Sunday, Andrews, who missed a two-point conversion that would have tied the game late in the fourth quarter, declined to talk to reporters. But on Thursday, the All-Pro tight end was at last able to gather his thoughts and accept the heartbreaking conclusion to his and the Ravens’ season.
An impassioned confession about being “devastated for my teammates, my coaches, and Ravens fans” was part of Andrews’ lengthy Instagram post.
The Ravens quickly demonstrated their backing for their standout tight end. By leaving Andrews a two-word note in the comments box, the team accomplished exactly that.
The Ravens wrote, “Our guy.” The statement was brief and straightforward, but it makes it clear that the Ravens support Andrews in spite of all the harsh criticism and hate that has been directed at him.
